Role summary

MetroStar is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to perform computer programming activities, including coding, analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues. The role involves preparing, automating, deploying, testing, monitoring, and evolving cloud solutions. The engineer will work in an agile environment, participate in scrum ceremonies, and support customers. Responsibilities include preparing technical specifications, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting solutions. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and at least one previous internship, with experience in API development, web application development, data analytics development, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. An active Secret clearance is also required.

As Associate Software Engineer, you'll perform computer programming activities to include coding tasks. Work involves assisting in analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues; preparing, automating, and deploying cloud solutions; and testing, monitoring, and evolving cloud solutions.

What you'll do:

  • You'll work in an agile environment as part of a full design and development team, participating in scrum ceremonies, interacting with, and supporting our customers.
  • You'll support the team in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting solutions.
  • You'll prepare technical specifications for solutions to be written, design, code, test, debug, and document solutions.
  • You'll code, test, and debug solutions as outlined by technical and functional requirements.
  • You'll assist in the development of business requirements and perform solution analysis, design, and programming.
  • You'll participate in code reviews to evolve code practices and solution code bases.
  • You'll research cloud technologies to create proof of concepts, prototypes, and MVPs.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science *and* at least one previous internship.
  • Excellent understanding of computer algorithms, data structures and communication skills.
  • Experience with API development, web application development and data analytics development (via internship experience)
  • Experience working with SaaS and PaaS by cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Have an active Secret clearance or the ability obtain a clearance

SALARY RANGE: $64000 - $74,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
  • - Performance-based bonuses
  • Company-paid training and/or certifications
  • Referral bonuses
