Role summary

## Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree. Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in information security, cybersecurity governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a large and complex information technology environment are required. Experience must include supervisory or managerial responsibilities overseeing technical or professional staff.
## Preferences
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale cybersecurity programs, including oversight of mission-critical infrastructure (e.g., first responder systems, water, transportation, ports, and elections)
- Experience securing and managing operational technology (OT) environments within complex, multi-system organizations.

Miami-Dade County’s Communication, Information & Technology Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Director, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) role. This position works closely with the Director/CIO to establish and maintain the County’s enterprise cybersecurity strategy and architecture, including the development of a multi-year roadmap to safeguard the County’s digital assets.
This leadership role is critical to protecting the County’s digital footprint through the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of the cybersecurity strategic plan. The incumbent ensures alignment of cybersecurity goals and objectives with the department’s overall business strategy. The CISO collaborates with senior leadership across the County to assess, communicate, and manage acceptable levels of risk, while also developing, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team of information security professionals.
.The job components include the following:
- Establishing operational objectives and performance standards for enterprise cybersecurity functions, including governance, risk and compliance, vulnerability management, security reviews and audits
- Overseeing endpoint and network security, firewalls, cloud connectivity, mainframe security, and identity and access management (IAM)
- Leading incident response activities and ensuring organizational readiness for cybersecurity threats
- Developing and implementing enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies, strategies, and standards
- Managing large-scale, County-wide cybersecurity initiatives and programs
- Coordinating the secure integration of emerging technologies across a complex, multi-platform environment
- Promoting cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives across the organization
