Role summary

Microsoft Foundry is seeking a Senior Product Manager to shape the future of AI development platforms. This role focuses on the build-deploy-operate loop for AI, enabling developers and enterprises to build and operate AI applications with reliability, performance, and scale. Responsibilities include defining product strategy and roadmaps, collaborating with engineering and go-to-market teams, and working with model providers and open-source communities. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of product management or software development experience, with preferred experience in AI, ML, cloud platforms, or developer tools.

As a
Senior Product Manager
, you will help shape the evolution of Microsoft Foundry by identifying customer needs, defining product strategy, and delivering capabilities that enable developers and enterprises to build and operate AI applications with reliability, performance, and scale.
You will work across multiple areas of the Foundry platform and collaborate closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver high-impact capabilities for developers and enterprises. This may include areas such as model discovery and deployment, open-source model hosting and inference, developer tooling, platform services, and integrations with the broader AI ecosystem.
Responsibilities Include

  • Define product strategy and roadmap for platform capabilities that support AI application development, model integration, and runtime services.
  • Work with flagship model providers, open-source communities, and ecosystem partners to expand the range of models and capabilities available through the Foundry platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate customer needs into product requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Define success metrics and lead experimentation to validate product hypotheses and drive product-led growth.
  • Partner with marketing, developer relations, and go-to-market teams to launch new capabilities and grow adoption.
  • Navigate ambiguity, drive alignment across stakeholders, and foster a culture of customer obsession and continuous innovation.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience delivering software or cloud-based products.
  • Experience building or shipping products in AI, machine learning, cloud platforms, developer tools, or distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with model ecosystems, open-source AI tooling, or LLM hosting and post-training.
  • Proven success driving product initiatives from concept to launch in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, design, research, and go-to-market teams.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Passion for improving developer experiences and building platforms that scale globally.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
