Role summary

Seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented financial professional for a short-term contract role focused on budget management processes. The role involves interviewing stakeholders, analyzing financial data, implementing automation and AI tools to enhance budget tracking and reporting, and preparing for the FY27 budget process. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, a process improvement mindset, and experience with automation and AI in a financial context. This is a remote, 40-hour per week contract position with a duration of 2 months.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented financial professional to join a dynamic team focused on translating product strategy into actionable market plans. This is a short-term, high-impact opportunity to drive meaningful improvements in budget management processes, with a focus on operational excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to leverage modern automation and AI tools to enhance how budgets are tracked, reported, and managed. This role offers the chance to make a measurable difference in a fast-paced environment by streamlining OPEX processes and preparing the groundwork for future fiscal year planning.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interview budget stakeholders to understand the end-to-end OPEX management process and document findings thoroughly
  • Analyze financial information and existing processes for accuracy and opportunities for improvement
  • Implement automation and/or AI agents to drive efficiencies and process enhancements
  • Improve how actuals are tracked and reported across the team
  • Assemble spreadsheets and create charts and graphs to illustrate financial reports
  • Prepare for the FY27 budget process, including potentially creating purchase orders, reporting structures, and tracking mechanisms
  • Develop clear and concise documentation of financial processes and identified improvements

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of financial and/or accounting experience required
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in process documentation and analysis
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience building or working with AI agents or automation tools
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related financial discipline required
  • Advanced degree in a financial discipline preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities
  • Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and financial data reporting
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting
  • Experience building or implementing AI agents or automation solutions within a financial or operational context
  • Proficiency with financial software and computer applications relevant to budget management and reporting

Additional Details:

  • Pay Range\*: $53.50 - $60.50 per hour
  • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
  • Job Status: Non-Exempt
