You will partner with creative and marketing teams to test, iterate, and optimize creative based on performance insights. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in motion design, animation fundamentals, and experience with industry-standard tools like After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. We’re looking for a craft‑driven
Brand Advertising Designer – Motion II
to create high-impact motion creative for performance marketing. You’ll design and animate banners and digital assets that are as craft-driven as they are conversion-minded—built to run across modern ad platforms, devices, and placements, paid social and digital advertising.
This role is focused on building the
performance layer
of our brand—executing
animated digital ads
(banners, social placements, short-form loops, and modular asset kits) with exceptional timing, clarity, and craft. You’ll bring ideas to life through
motion design and animation
, partnering closely with creative and marketing teams to test, iterate, and continuously raise the bar. You’ll design within established brand frameworks while pushing craft, clarity, and conversion across formats and placements.
This is a hands‑on, craft-forward role for ambitious motion designers who love making work that ships—fast. You’ll be close to production, deeply involved in execution, and energized by performance problem-solving: learning from results, and evolving creative through iteration. This role is for people who love the details of production craft, can iterate with intention, and are energized by making work that shows up in the world and delivers measurable impact.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities

  • Design and animate performance digital advertising creative—including banners, paid social assets, short-form loops, and motion cutdowns—optimized for platform specs, readability, and impact
  • Partner with creative, marketing, and channel teams to translate strategy into clear performance stories, producing multiple concepts and rapid iterations based on feedback and results
  • Execute motion with strong fundamentals (timing, easing, legibility, hierarchy), delivering polished exports that meet specs, file-weight limits, and accessibility best practices
  • Build and maintain motion toolkits (templates, reusable components, versioning structures) to scale creative across sizes, languages, and channel requirements
  • Present work with clear rationale, participate in creative reviews, and incorporate input, quickly balancing craft with speed and performance goals
  • Iterate efficiently based on feedback, performance insights, and learnings—delivering variants, refreshes, and localization updates on tight timelines
  • Own production details end‑to‑end (file hygiene, exports, versioning, specs) and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, high‑craft studio culture
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, inclusive, high-output / high-craft studio culture—bringing energy, ownership, and strong production habits

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Motion Design, Visual Design, Graphic Design, Film/Animation or related art field AND 2+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment OR equivalent experience.
  • Industry experience in After Effects, HTML 5, plus industry working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma; familiarity with plug-ins/expressions, lightweight exports, and AI-assisted creative tools

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in brand, advertising, or in house creative teams (in‑house, studio, freelance, or mixed)
  • Experience creating performance marketing creative and understanding the realities of digital placements (sizes/ratios, safe areas, file-weight limits, platform specs)
  • Elevated craft in animation, motion, and digital for motion digital assets
  • Portfolio showing motion-first craft and performance-ready thinking (banners, paid social, cutdowns, versioning/variations), typography and design fundamentals
  • Excellent taste—and the ability to apply it in a performance context (clarity, speed, and impact without sacrificing brand)

Art IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
