Android Software Engineer Internship
Role summary
Midtronics is seeking an Android Software Engineer Intern to join their summer internship program. This paid internship offers students pursuing a BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering the opportunity to design, implement, and test Android applications. Interns will gain hands-on experience in software enhancement, automated testing within a CI environment, and presenting development status. The role requires familiarity with Java and/or Kotlin, strong analytical and collaboration skills, and a drive to learn and grow. This is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge and kickstart their career in battery management solutions.
Compensation: $25-$30
Internship Program
Students eligible to participate in our summer internship program must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Start and end dates will be determined based on the selected candidate’s school schedule. Interns are expected to work 10 weeks (at 40 hours per week).
During our summer internship program, you will be given assignments that expand on the skills you have developed in school and provide on the job experience.
Position Requirements:
- Pursuing a BA/BS degree in relevant program (C.S., C.E., or E.E)
- Familiarity with JAVA and/or Kotlin
- Strong analytical skills: must be able to breakdown problems and identify methods to solve those problems
- Must be curious, with a natural drive to learn, understand, and grow your expertise
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability and interest to understand market problems and opportunities
- Entrepreneurial drive to take ownership of a task and execute to achieve the desired outcome
- A strong service orientation with a “how can I help?” approach
- Strong time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have above average technical aptitude
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test applications in Android OS-based products
- Implementing software enhancements that increase efficiencies and portability
- Creating and maintaining automated tests in a constant integration environment
- Presenting status on software development efforts to project management and management
