SUMMARY:

Millstone is seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Security Engineer to support the growing operational, cybersecurity, and compliance needs of our organization. This is a hands-on, strategic role responsible for maintaining a reliable infrastructure foundation while strengthening our overall security posture.

As our technology environment continues to expand, this role will play a critical part in ensuring system stability, data protection, regulatory compliance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Manage servers, storage, virtualization, and network systems to ensure performance and uptime
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Strengthen endpoint, network, and identity security
  • Lead vulnerability management, patching, and system hardening
  • Support incident response readiness and monitoring
  • Implement and maintain access controls and security best practices

Compliance & Governance

  • Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA-regulated environment)
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, and documentation
  • Ensure systems align with data protection and security frameworks

Operational Excellence

  • Improve system monitoring, alerting, and performance management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and security issues
  • Partner with leadership to standardize and mature IT processes
  • Reduce reliance on third-party vendors for Tier 2/3 support

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, and leadership teams
  • Support strategic initiatives including system integrations and digital transformation

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cybersecurity
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Windows/Linux systems administration
  • Networking (firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching – BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
  • Managing LAN, WAN and data center networks
  • Cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Experience with:
  • Backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Endpoint and identity security
  • Vulnerability management and patch governance
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA, healthcare, or similar)

Preferred

  • Experience with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO)
  • Familiarity with SIEM, monitoring, and endpoint protection tools
  • Certifications such as:
  • CISSP, CISM, Security+, Azure/AWS certifications
