Role summary

This Platform Engineer role focuses on building and owning the critical compute layer that underpins a widely adopted developer platform. The engineer will be responsible for provisioning, scaling, and orchestrating multi-region compute workloads, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. Key responsibilities include developing observability and automation solutions, making architectural decisions, and participating in on-call rotations and incident response. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of backend engineering experience with Go and TypeScript, strong AWS knowledge, and a production operations mindset, comfortable working with high-level guidance in a fully remote, async environment.

At scale, compute becomes the product.

Every project spun up, every database provisioned, every function fired - it all lands on a compute layer that needs to be instant, reliable, and invisible to the developer using it. That's what this team owns.

Our client is one of the most widely adopted developer platforms in the world. As adoption grows, the complexity behind provisioning, scaling, and operating compute across regions becomes one of the hardest problems in the system. They're hiring a Platform Engineer to own that layer.

The Work

This isn't about shipping features. It's about building the systems everything else depends on.

You'll own:

⚙️ Provisioning and scaling multi-region compute workloads

⚙️ The full lifecycle of compute orchestration - project creation, warm pools, autoscaling, smart region selection, resizing, and resource optimization

⚙️ Observability and automation across the compute stack

⚙️ Architecture decisions that directly shape performance, cost, and reliability

⚙️ On-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews - because owning the system means owning the hard moments too

What You'll Bring

🧠 7+ years of strong backend engineering experience - Go and TypeScript required

🧠 Solid AWS knowledge, including SDKs and IaC tools (Pulumi, Terraform preferred)

🧠 A production operations mindset - you build things that are reliable, observable, and maintainable

🧠 Real comfort with ownership and high-level guidance - you don't need a roadmap handed to you

What You'll Get

✅ Fully remote with co-working allowance

✅ ESOP equity for every team member

✅ Tech allowance

✅ Full health insurance coverage

✅ Annual company offsite

✅ Flexible, async work culture

✅ Annual learning & development budget

If you want to own the layer that everything else depends on - this is it.
