### Your Impact as a Data Scientist

The Data Scientist – Trend Analytics and Forecasting is responsible for projecting key performance indicators and using those projections to drive models that detail expected business performance across various levels of the organization. This role provides critical information to the entire organization, including senior leadership, investors, functional teams, and operators. The ideal candidate exhibits curiosity, a willingness to test and learn from failure, disciplined modeling behaviors, and comfortability presenting and defending their work product to senior leaderships.

KEY SUCCESS METRICS

  • Establishment of processes and documentation for new and existing work streams
  • Timeliness and Accuracy of reporting
  • “Buy-in” of key stakeholders to forecast outputs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project key performance indicators for the business, and communicate how those projections affect future performance
  • Conduct scenario analysis to communicate a range of possible outcomes
  • Sensitivity test key variables to understand where the risk/opportunity is in the business
  • Use various tools including but not limited to Python, R, Power BI, and Excel for projections and modeling
  • Develop executive ready presentations in Power Point that communicate financial forecasts and associated KPIs
  • Collect feedback from business partners and incorporate into modeling
  • Make reasonable decisions/assumptions where data inconsistencies or gaps may exist
  • Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation
  • Drive process improvement and automation wherever able

  • Responds quickly to source data changes including ERP transitions
  • Works through different types of “bad data” including gaps, missing observations, and structural changes

  • Develops professional, engaging presentation decks that effectively convey information
  • Seeks to understand needs before providing solutions or recommendations
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in all written correspondence

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Business Analytics or related field
  • 3 or more years of experience in analytical role
  • Experience with utilizing AI tools to automate and build processes.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadline
