Role summary

MNP is seeking a Manager, Assurance and Accounting for their Private Enterprise Services team. This role involves leading client-facing engagement teams in delivering audit, review, and tax compliance services. The Manager will manage a client portfolio, provide technical expertise, ensure quality control, and contribute to business development. Key responsibilities include engagement planning, financial management, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate has a CPA designation, 4-6 years of public accounting experience, and strong people management skills. The role offers a competitive salary range of $84,500 to $120,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing engagement teams in delivering audit and review engagements, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions.
  • Deliver industry and technical expertise in assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables
  • Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop 
  • Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition) 
  • Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews 
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills and Experience 

  • CPA designation
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Experience conducting audits and preparing financial statements under various accounting frameworks, including ASPE, IFRS, US GAAP, ASNPO, and/or PSAS.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
  • Strong people management and leadership skills, with experience supervising team members, providing coaching, and building effective working relationships.

The annual salary range for this role is $84,500 to $120,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience, and education.
