Software Engineer
Role summary
Montney Technologies Corp. is seeking a Software Engineer for a 6-month contract role, with potential for full-time conversion. This position focuses on developing and enhancing software for routing, logistics, and operational workflows within the energy sector. The role involves full-stack development, working with geospatial data and mapping systems, supporting web and mobile platforms (iOS/Android), building backend services and data pipelines, and potentially implementing AI features. Collaboration with internal teams and clients is expected. The ideal candidate is located in or near Calgary, AB, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Montney Technologies Corp. is hiring an intermediate or senior software engineer to support the development and commercialization of wellway.
This role focuses on building and improving software used for routing, logistics, and operational workflows for energy companies.
This is a 6-month contract with the opportunity to move into a full-time role based on performance.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the design and development of full-stack applications
- Work with geospatial data and mapping systems
- Support development across web and mobile platforms (iOS & Android)
- Build and improve backend services and data pipelines
- Assist in implementing AI-driven features where appropriate
- Collaborate with internal team members and, at times, clients
Requirements
- Experience in full-stack software development
- Familiarity with GIS / mapping systems
- Ability to work across frontend, backend, and mobile environments
- Understanding of APIs, data handling, and system design
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Located in Calgary, AB or near the city.
Nice to Have
- Experience in oil & gas or industrial environments
- Experience working with real-world operational systems
- Exposure to AI tools or data-driven systems
