Job Summary

The Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer is a lead technical position responsible for designing, configuring, maintaining, and securing hybrid IT systems that span on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments. This role is crucial to university operations, ensuring uptime, security, and performance of critical systems, including Active Directory, Citrix, Intune, virtualization platforms, and server/storage hardware.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for identity management, authentication, and security policy enforcement.
  • Maintain and optimize Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), including provisioning, patching, and remote lab access.
  • Manage Windows Server and Storage hardware, including firmware updates, fault resolution, and vendor coordination.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for workstation enrollment, mobile device management (MDM), software distribution, and policy compliance (including OneDrive folder redirection).
  • Operate and troubleshoot virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and implement high-availability solutions.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to enforce endpoint and infrastructure security controls (including patch compliance and audit preparation).

  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, scripts, and configuration baselines.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s from an accredited institute of higher education
EXPERIENCE:
5 or more years in systems administration across the Microsoft ecosystem

Other Preferences for Consideration

Master’s in IT/IS preferred
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Entra ID, Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization, VMware VCP, ITIL Foundation
