Role summary

The Assistant Program Manager supports the planning and execution of projects within the developmental disabilities field, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies. This role involves coordinating schedules, managing scope, and mitigating risks under the guidance of the Program Manager. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, assisting with curriculum development and implementation, overseeing program operations, managing data collection and reporting, and liaising with external facilities and community resources. The position requires a minimum of one year of management experience in a related field, strong budgeting and time management skills, and a commitment to ensuring program effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

Summary

As an Assistant Program Manager, you will support the planning and execution of projects while ensuring adherence to project management methodologies. Reporting to the Program Manager, your role involves coordinating project schedules, managing scope, and mitigating risks to achieve project goals. Your core skills in budgeting and time management will be essential, while your premium skills in change management and Agile methodologies will enhance project outcomes.

  • Supervise Star Coordinator and Star Advocates
  • Work with *Program Director* to research, develop, implement and evaluate curriculum
  • Assist and train Star Coordinator and Star Advocates to observe and document (data collection) STAR activity, participation, and behavior according to SPP.
  • Review/ Approve STAR Performance Plan
  • Oversea STAR intake(s) and track STAR referrals
  • Audit STAR data and progress notes
  • Liaison with residential facilities, Regional Centers, Consumer Coordinators on STAR daily health, personal and program needs.
  • Reach out to community for volunteers and support.
  • Coordinate all activities of program.
  • Assist *Program Director* with hiring and training of staff
  • Monitor the effectiveness and results of the program and plan adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all government relations.
  • Gather data for assessment of program effectiveness
  • Attend community events to represent program.
  • Supervision of records and reports required for State and Federal regulatory agencies and in accordance with requirements of the Attorney General, State of California
  • Responsible for daily attendance accuracy
  • Attend staff and other meetings as assigned
  • Proper handling and use of equipment as assigned
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

PreferredB.A. in psychology, social work or a related human services field.

Minimum of one year management experience in the field of developmental disabilities or a closely related field required; demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of developmental disabilities. A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent may be considered, with 3 years’ experience in human services delivery system, including one in comparable program; demonstrated ability to provide staff training, supervision and planning; current CPR and First Aid training required. Must have a clean driving record, fingerprint clearance, valid CA driver's license, and 2 years driving experience, safe reliable transportation, and proof of current vehicle insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
