Role summary
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to drive quality across connected hardware, firmware, cloud services, and dashboards. This role involves improving test coverage, reducing production release risks, and scaling QA processes. Responsibilities include validating firmware, hardware, backend services, and dashboards, defining quality expectations, participating in release readiness and risk assessments, and triaging customer issues. The engineer will contribute to automated testing across device, API, and UI layers, improve QA workflows and documentation, and communicate quality risks to stakeholders. This is an onsite role in Westlake Village, CA, with a compensation range of $105,000 to $130,000 base.

Overview

Responsibilities
- Validate firmware, hardware, backend services, and dashboards prior to release
- Define testable quality expectations with engineering teams
- Participate in release readiness and risk assessments
- Reproduce and triage customer-impacting issues
- Support shipment-related validation as processes mature
- Contribute to automated testing across device, API, and UI layers
- Improve QA workflows, documentation, and test coverage
- Communicate quality risks and release readiness to stakeholders
- Partner with development partners to ensure delivery timelines
Requirements
- Experience testing IoT platforms, distributed systems, or cloud applications
- Familiarity with embedded firmware validation and hardware-integrated testing
- Experience validating APIs and backend services
- Strong test design, regression strategy, and risk-based testing skills
- Experience validating production releases and assessing customer impact
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to identify quality gaps and communicate risk clearly
- Comfort operating in fast-paced product environments

- CI pipeline familiarity
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or logistics environments
