Role summary

MCI is seeking a Web Developer & Digital Optimization Specialist to build, maintain, and optimize its websites and digital properties. This role combines front-end development with marketing strategy, focusing on technical SEO, AI-search optimization, analytics, and site performance. Responsibilities include developing pages using BigCommerce, implementing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring site speed and responsiveness, managing integrations, executing SEO strategies, conducting audits, and supporting analytics and A/B testing.

MCI is a 46-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems and design-to-order metal fabrications. We serve a variety of industries with standard and custom products including water pumping, oil production-drill and refining controls, wastewater treatment, conveying, baggage conveying, handling, and more!

Job Summary

The Web Developer & Digital Optimization Specialist builds, maintains, and optimizes MCI's websites and digital properties across its family of brands. This role bridges web development and marketing strategy through front-end development, technical SEO, AI-search optimization, analytics, and ongoing site performance improvements.

Compensation

Starting at $85,000 annual

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain pages and landing pages across MCI websites using BigCommerce and other CMS platforms.
  • Execute front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Keep sites mobile responsive, fast loading, and cross-browser compatible.
  • Manage site updates, forms, navigation, plugins, and API integrations.
  • Implement on-page SEO, schema, redirects, XML sitemaps, and robots.txt.
  • Conduct technical SEO audits and improve Core Web Vitals and site health.
  • Support AI-search visibility through structured content and authority-building page formats.
  • Maintain GA4, Tag Manager, conversion tracking, reporting, and A/B testing support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional web development experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with BigCommerce or a comparable CMS platform.
  • Working knowledge of SEO tools and GA4 / GTM.
  • Ability to work independently and solve technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with schema markup and technical SEO.
  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and mobile-first development.
  • Experience in B2B, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with GEO and AI-driven search platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and version control tools.
