## Job Summary
mPulse is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support large-scale healthcare data migration initiatives from legacy systems to AWS cloud environments. This role is responsible for leading data analysis, mapping, validation, and quality assurance efforts to ensure secure, accurate, and compliant migration of healthcare data.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare datasets, strong SQL and AWS knowledge, and experience working with PHI/PII in regulated environments. This role partners closely with cloud engineering, product, and compliance teams to support modernization and data transformation initiatives.
## Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data analysis for healthcare data migration from legacy systems to AWS cloud environments
- Perform data discovery, profiling, and gap analysis across clinical, claims, provider, and patient datasets
- Develop source-to-target mapping documentation and transformation rules for migration pipelines
- Collaborate with AWS engineering teams to design and validate migration workflows
- Validate data extraction and ensure secure transfer of PHI/PII into cloud environments
- Conduct pre-migration, in-flight, and post-migration validation to ensure data integrity and completeness
- Analyze healthcare datasets including EHR/EMR, claims, billing, eligibility, and provider data
- Interpret and apply healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED)
- Define and implement data quality rules, validation checks, and governance standards
- Identify data anomalies and recommend cleansing or remediation strategies
- Write complex SQL queries for reconciliation, validation, and exception handling
- Support ETL/ELT pipeline validation and troubleshooting
- Develop dashboards and reporting (Power BI/Tableau) for migration tracking and data quality metrics
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries, lineage, and migration playbooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate risks, progress, and mitigation strategies
- Participate in UAT and support end-user validation
## Skills/Abilities/Experience
- Strong expertise in healthcare data migration and legacy-to-cloud transitions
- Advanced SQL skills (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, DMS, EMR)
- Knowledge of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, SNOMED)
- Experience working with PHI/PII under HIPAA/HITECH compliance
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, SSIS, Talend, ADF, AWS Glue)
- Familiarity with AWS analytics stack (Athena, Lake Formation, Redshift Spectrum)
- Experience building or supporting data lakes or cloud data warehouses
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
## Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in data analysis or senior data analyst roles
- Hands-on experience with healthcare data migration projects
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud environments and data tools
- Experience ensuring compliance with HIPAA/HITECH and data governance standards
Preferred
- Experience with EHR/EMR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, etc.)
- Experience with payer systems (Facets, QNXT, HealthEdge, TriZetto)
- AWS or healthcare data certifications (AWS Data Analytics, Solutions Architect, CHDA, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile environments
