GNC Engineer
Role summary
Muon Space is seeking a talented Spacecraft Attitude Control System (ACS) / Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer specializing in attitude control design. The role involves designing and implementing attitude control architectures and algorithms in C++, defining requirements, performing analysis and simulation, and supporting on-orbit systems. Qualifications include a Master's or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent hands-on GNC experience, proficiency in C++, control theory, numerical programming environments (Python, Julia, MATLAB), and experience with LEO platform actuators and sensors. Preferred skills include experience with low-jitter pointing platforms and spacecraft flight operations.
About the Role
Muon seeks a talented Spacecraft Attitude Control System (ACS) AKA Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer specializing in attitude control design to join our team. The ideal candidate can go both deep and broad across the control system analysis and design process. They would use a “systems mindset” to be a multiplier when collaborating with other disciplines to arrive at an elegant, best-fit spacecraft design. In this role, you will work with Muon’s Product and Mission Execution teams - developing modular, mission-agnostic attitude control schemes for our spacecraft platforms that can be extended to meet mission-specific requirements.

Salary
The salary range for this role is $124,000 - $189,000 plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
