Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Mutualink’s Software Quality Assurance Team is seeking a talented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. Our mission is to work collaboratively with Product Development, Infrastructure Engineering, and Customer Support to deliver, monitor, and maintain Mutualink's products and services. Job Location: Mutualink’s R&D facility in Westford, MA

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive manual test plans and test cases for all Mutualink products
  • Perform manual test execution for core platforms (desktop, Android, and iOS)
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and debugging details
  • Work effectively with Linux-based setup for testing, debugging and troubleshooting activities
  • Perform testing in complex lab environments, including required in-office presence to access hardware and system configurations
  • Work with automated testing systems and assist in writing/maintaining scripts as needed
  • Support testing involving networking, telecom, or hardware-integrated systems (as applicable)
  • Contribute to project teams for manual testing efforts
  • Participate in QA and project team meetings and contribute to overall test strategy

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX operating systems including command-line usage and basic scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in complex system environments
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Experience configuring, using, and maintaining radio, network, telecom, and/or other hardware devices to test a software product (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work with Linux machines and operate within in-office lab environments for required setups
  • Knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Java, Selenium, Appium, and JMeter (a plus)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with QA and Development team members
  • Excellent analytical skill and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Understanding of virtual machines (VMs) and complex lab environment topologies
  • Experience contributing to the release process and collaborating with Engineering and Deployment teams to assess deployment readiness
  • Knowledge of QA processes and methodologies, including defect tracking tools like JIRA and test management tools such as Zephyr

Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package *(Health, Vision, Dental and Group Life Insurance, 401K Plan & Match, PTO, and Holiday Pay)*, a great team to work with and a mission that you can be part of that will absolutely make a difference. This position offers a fixed annual base salary. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$95,000 based on an individual's overall qualifications, experience, skill level, geography, expertise, and education/training at time of hire. Promotional and advancement opportunities are available to reach top pay. This pay range can be modified at any time at the sole discretion of the Company.
