Automation Engineering Coordinator
Role summary
MW Industries, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineering Coordinator to support automation projects. This role involves basic planning, tracking, and coordination, maintaining project documentation, managing schedules and Gantt charts, and coordinating purchasing activities. The coordinator will also assist with inventory tracking, scheduling meetings, taking notes, and communicating with internal sites and external vendors. Responsibilities include creating work orders, assisting with IT support tickets, and providing occasional hands-on shop support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail are required. A high school diploma is necessary, with an Associate degree preferred. Experience in an administrative, coordination, engineering support, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support automation projects through basic planning, tracking, and coordination activities
- Maintain and organize project documentation, files, schedules, and records
- Update and manage project schedules and Gantt charts
- Coordinate purchasing activities including requisitions, POs, receiving, and tracking
- Assist with inventory tracking and shop organization for automation components
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings, reviews, and vendor calls
- Take meeting notes and follow up on action items
- Maintain project calendars and assist with shipment scheduling for automation equipment
- Communicate with internal sites and external vendors regarding project status and logistics
- Create and update work orders related to automation projects
- Assist with automation support tickets in coordination with IT
- Provide occasional hands-on support in the shop as needed (e.g., assisting with panel builds or machine assembly)
- Order and manage office and shop supplies
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Comfortable working with schedules, spreadsheets, and basic project tracking tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Willingness to work in both office and shop environments
- Basic mechanical or technical aptitude; ability to learn quickly
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or relevant coursework preferred but not required
- 1–3 years of experience in an administrative, coordination, engineering support, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience supporting technical, engineering, or operations teams is a plus
