Role summary

About The Team And The Role

Vehicles team
is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive, trustworthy, and satisfying vehicle shopping experience on eBay. We enable buyers and sellers by offering a wide selection of vehicles, competitive pricing, and a
hassle-free end-to-end journey
-from discovery to transaction and post-purchase support.

What You Will Accomplish
- Build highly available, scalable user facing applications and RESTful /GraphQL APIs
- Building web technologies and services (e.g. Java/NodeJS/C++, etc.) along with browser technologies (Marko, React, Javascript, HTML, etc.)
- Develop technical & domain expertise and apply to solving product challenges
- Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes. Identify project technical risks and make recommendations to mitigate
What You Will Bring
- BA/BS or MS in Computer Science or related field plus 5 + years proven track record crafting & developing highly scalable distributed platforms and services and internet scale web applications
- Proficiency in Java and/OR Scala, distributed systems, cloud-related knowledge
- Experience with Java/J2EE, SOAP, SOA Services, Design Patterns, Data Structures, XML, REST, JSON, and Internet Protocols
- Must have a solid knowledge and experiences of relational database (oracle) and/or noSQL data technologies (Mongo, Cassandra, Couchbase), ElasticSearch and related toolset
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures and algorithms along with up-to-date knowledge in advancement in Web technologies and drive innovation.
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$118,000 - C$157,500
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
