Role summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and operation of global data center infrastructure, with a focus on physical security projects. This role involves leading cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design to deployment and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions on time, while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include implementing and documenting improvements related to new technologies and ensuring the highest standards for safety and security at the lowest possible cost.

Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional and technical teams to drive new build physical security projects from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and senior management on a daily basis
  • Lead the deployment, launch, and continuous improvement of new data center physical security builds and expansions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions and deliver results on time
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors
  • Lead continuous improvement processes to improve physical security programs
  • Implement and fully document improvements and modifications related to new technologies

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • 3+ years physical security infrastructure deployment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
