
SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST/DATA SCIENTIST
Role summary
This supervisory role is for an Operations Research Analyst or Data Scientist within the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT, READINESS AND FLEET ANALYTICS DIVISION. The position involves leading the Readiness Data Analysis Branch, directly supervising interdisciplinary scientists, research analysts, mathematicians, and logisticians. Key responsibilities include leading a data engineering team to build and maintain big data pipelines and analytical tools using a medallion architecture, facilitating tool development, managing personnel and resources, and overseeing financial analysis and budget review. The role requires strong leadership, data engineering, operations research, and data science capabilities.
Position Description
You will serve as either a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST or a SUPERVISORY DATA SCIENTIST in the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT, READINESS AND FLEET ANALYTICS DIVISION, READINESS DATA ANALYSIS BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will serve as the Branch Head and supervisor of the Readiness Data Analysis Branch.
- You will be directly responsible for the supervision of interdisciplinary scientists, research analysts, and mathematicians, and logisticians assigned to and providing direct analytical and logistics support to multiple programs.
- You will facilitate the development and sustainment of analytical tools.
- You will lead a team of data engineers responsible for establishing and maintaining big data pipelines, analytical tools, codebase, process documentation, and dataset development in a medallion architecture.
- You will make adjustments in the allocation of personnel and other resources in a timely and effective manner to meet program contingencies.
- You will process documentation and refinement, conduct financial analyses, and review budgets.
