Duration: 6 Months Contract
## Position Overview
A leading technology organization is seeking a Test Software Engineer to support development and testing of Augmented Reality (AR) prototype devices.
This role involves hands-on work with hardware and software systems, focusing on troubleshooting, automation, and integration testing across Android and Linux-based environments.
## Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Android and Linux-based prototype devices using:
- ADB
- Serial consoles
- Log analysis tools
- Develop and maintain Python-based tools for:
- Calibration workflows
- Integration testing
- Device bring-up processes
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams to diagnose and resolve issues across the full technology stack.
- Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis for system-level issues.
- Support testing and validation of AR prototype systems.
## Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent internships/projects)
- Strong experience with:
- Python (scripting, automation, basic data processing)
- Linux environments (command line, SSH, basic system administration)
- Hands-on experience working with physical hardware/devices
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
## Must-Have Skills
- Python scripting and automation
- Linux command-line proficiency and system usage
- Strong debugging mindset with focus on root cause analysis
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Android devices (ADB, logcat, shell commands)
- Familiarity with 6DoF robotic systems
- Experience with modern C++
- Exposure to AR/VR devices or embedded systems
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, Buck, or Mercurial
## Work Environment
- 100% Onsite role in Redmond, WA
- Hands-on interaction with prototype hardware devices
- Collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment
