About The Role
We are seeking a dependable and proactive IT Technician to join our team in Houston. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our clients’ IT infrastructure by providing on-site support, setting up new equipment, and assisting senior IT staff with various technical tasks. This role offers a diverse work environment that combines fieldwork, shop support, and occasional site visits, providing a well-rounded experience for those starting their IT careers.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a foundational understanding of IT systems, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, hardware components, and Microsoft 365 applications. Dependability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential qualities. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable traveling locally within the Houston area. Physical ability to lift and move equipment is also required. While prior experience is not mandatory, relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or equivalent are a plus. Candidates with experience working in shop or industrial environments will have an added advantage.
Responsibilities
The IT Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure seamless technology operations across our locations. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving basic computer and network issues, responding to IT support tickets, and assisting users with technical problems on a daily basis. The technician will set up new computers, devices, and peripherals, ensuring proper configuration and functionality. Traveling between office, shop, and job sites to provide hands-on support is a core part of the role. The technician will also support troubleshooting network connectivity issues, workstations, and shop systems such as tool controllers. Acting as "remote hands" for senior IT staff or external vendors, the technician will assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and inventory management. Additionally, they will help onboard new employees by setting up accounts and equipment, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
