Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation purposes is also required. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams, are highly valued, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills to facilitate effective cross-team coordination.
Responsibilities
The Lead Cloud Engineer will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure. Key duties include architecting scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions that adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards. You will define and enforce cloud architecture standards to maintain consistency, security, and performance across all deployments. Monitoring cloud environments—such as AWS and Azure—for performance issues, troubleshooting complex problems, and resolving bottlenecks will be a regular part of your role. Implementing and managing security protocols in line with government regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance is critical. You will also lead efforts to optimize cloud spending by analyzing usage patterns and identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing effective cost management strategies. Leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, you will automate deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
