About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at our Davenport, IA facility. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting and leading electrical and process improvement initiatives within our rolling manufacturing and process areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization of manufacturing processes, improve equipment operation, and support product development efforts. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality, and external suppliers, to ensure the seamless operation of electrical systems and the successful implementation of new technologies. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, problem-solving, and process enhancement, ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. A minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is required, with a strong understanding of industrial controls, programming, and automation systems. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of statistics, vision systems, and surface monitoring systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC, C++, Python, and Java is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and continuous improvement. A fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes, electrical systems, and technical troubleshooting is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities

  • Support product development by investigating, determining, and modifying rolling models and processes required to run new products efficiently.
  • Maintain and support the operation of vision systems, measuring systems, and surface quality monitoring systems installed on rolling equipment, including leading installation and commissioning efforts for new systems.
  • Lead failure analysis efforts by participating in problem-solving teams, identifying root causes, and organizing support from other resources to implement effective solutions.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to provide advanced guidance on equipment operation, process optimization, and product quality improvements.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to recurring design, process, and application issues, ensuring continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders such as technical resources, leadership teams, production, quality, and maintenance personnel, as well as external suppliers, to align process improvement initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, automation controls, and related equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Participate in off-shift and weekend support activities as needed to ensure continuous manufacturing operations in a 24/7 environment.
