About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic healthcare technology team. This role demands a hands-on professional who is proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines within an AWS cloud environment. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for transforming raw healthcare data from diverse sources into clean, structured datasets that support analytics, reporting, and product development. You will collaborate closely with analytics, product, and engineering teams to ensure our data infrastructure is robust, efficient, and scalable to meet the evolving needs of our organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, particularly in building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and orchestration tasks.
- Deep understanding of SQL and data modeling principles, with experience working with relational databases such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Postgres.
- Hands-on experience working in a cloud-first environment, especially AWS services like S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, and EMR.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, and data transformation frameworks like dbt or custom ETL frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines that process large volumes of healthcare data efficiently.
- Ingest data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, flat files, and streaming platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging cloud-native tools and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and production pipelines.
- Implement and monitor data quality checks, logging, and alerting to ensure high data integrity and availability.
- Support analytics and reporting teams by providing timely, accurate, and well-structured data sets for downstream applications.
- Maintain documentation of data pipelines, processes, and workflows to ensure transparency and ease of maintenance.
