Role summary
Seeking a founding-level Senior Software Lead to architect and build the backend and data infrastructure for a next-generation factory operating system. This hands-on leadership role involves designing scalable systems for robotic manufacturing, sensor data, and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure. About the Role
We are seeking a
founding-level Senior Software Lead
to architect and build the backend and data infrastructure for a next-generation
factory operating system
.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will design scalable systems that integrate
robotic manufacturing, sensor/perception data pipelines, and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure
. You will start by leading a small team and play a key role in scaling engineering capabilities while delivering production-grade systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop backend services for
planning, scheduling, telemetry, and data capture
across manufacturing systems
• Build and optimize
large-scale visual/perception data pipelines
(video, sensor, LiDAR, etc.)
• Architect
hybrid infrastructure
combining on-prem/embedded systems with cloud environments
• Define and manage
data flow between factory systems and cloud platforms
• Lead and mentor engineers, scaling a team from early-stage growth
• Collaborate with robotics, manufacturing, and leadership teams to define and execute product roadmap
• Deliver
production-ready systems
supporting real-world manufacturing operations
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in
software engineering (backend/distributed systems)
• Strong expertise in
Python and C++ (production-level development)
• Experience building
large-scale visual/perception pipelines
(video, camera, LiDAR, sensor data)
• Deep understanding of
distributed systems and high-throughput data architectures (TB–PB scale)
• Experience with
cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Hands-on experience with
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), containers, and Kubernetes
• Proven leadership experience (Tech Lead / Engineering Lead / Project Ownership)
• Experience building systems from scratch (
0→1 development or major platform ownership
)
Preferred Skills
• Background in
robotics, autonomous vehicles, manufacturing systems, or computer vision
• Experience with
ML infrastructure and perception systems
• Exposure to
real-time data streaming and large-scale analytics systems
