About the Role
We are seeking a
Security Engineer III – Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
to join an enterprise security team supporting a leading financial services organization. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and optimizing enterprise-level data protection strategies to safeguard sensitive information across cloud, endpoint, web, and email environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing
DLP technologies
, improving detection accuracy, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as
GDPR and HIPAA
. This role involves close collaboration with security operations, IT infrastructure, DevOps, and compliance teams to integrate security controls into enterprise systems and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) platforms to protect sensitive information across multiple environments including cloud, endpoint, email, and web
• Design, implement, and optimize DLP policies to detect and prevent unauthorized data access or exfiltration
• Monitor DLP platform performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure platform stability and reliability
• Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments related to data protection systems
• Automate security controls and configurations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
• Work with incident response and threat detection teams to support security investigations and improve detection capabilities
• Reduce false positives by refining policy rules, improving alert context, and optimizing response workflows
• Implement data protection mechanisms such as encryption, data masking, and tokenization
• Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure security controls are integrated into operational workflows
• Mentor junior security engineers and provide technical guidance on DLP technologies and best practices
• Translate technical security risks into actionable insights for business and technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3–5+ years of experience in
Information Security or Data Protection
roles
• Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
(or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise
DLP platforms
such as Symantec, Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, or Palo Alto
• Strong understanding of
data protection techniques
including encryption (data at rest and in transit), data masking, and tokenization
• Experience implementing and managing
data classification frameworks
• Solid knowledge of
data privacy and regulatory compliance frameworks
including GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA
• Experience working across
cloud, application, and network security environments
• Familiarity with
automation and scripting
to implement and maintain security controls
Preferred Skills
• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as financial services
• Familiarity with incident response processes and security operations workflows
• Experience integrating security controls into DevOps or CI/CD pipelines
