Role summary

Next Unicorn is seeking a Full-Stack / Platform Engineer to join its founding team. This remote, full-time role involves building and scaling a B2B SaaS platform at the intersection of AI, fintech, and marketplaces. The engineer will work across the entire stack, owning product features, architecture decisions, and production systems. Responsibilities include developing APIs, AI-driven components, data models, and ensuring system performance and reliability. The ideal candidate has strong full-stack skills with modern JS/TS frameworks and APIs, and can work independently in a dynamic startup environment. Experience with serverless, AI/LLMs, or data systems is a plus.

Next Unicorn is building the operating system for early-stage investors to streamline their investment processes. We are currently piloting groundbreaking tools, including NU Deal Screener, an AI agent that reduces investor pre-screening time by up to 70% while engaging with startups on their behalf, and NU Deal Room, which uses AI-powered thesis matching to facilitate founder-investor alignment. Our mission is to revolutionize how early-startup investments are made, enhancing efficiency and success for all parties involved.

Role Description

We are looking for a Full-Stack / Platform Engineer to join our founding team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a high ownership role. As a key contributor, you will help build and scale a B2B SaaS platform at the intersection of AI + fintech + marketplaces.You’ll work across the entire stack and have direct ownership over product features, architecture decisions, and production systems.

What You Will Work On

Build and ship features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
Develop scalable APIs, workflows, and real-time data systems
Work with AI-driven components (LLMs, parsing, workflows)
Design and manage data models, triggers, and backend logic
Own production behavior: performance, reliability, and debugging
Contribute to evolving system architecture as we scale

Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Functions, Hosting)
- Other:
Integrations (email, billing, scheduling), AI workflows

What We Are Looking For

Strong full-stack development skills
Experience with modern JS/TS frameworks and APIs
Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
