Job Opening

We are seeking a
Senior Software Engineer
with strong software development experience to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a high-impact product. You will be working hand-in-hand with our technical lead in all technical aspects of buildingOS.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & System Design

• Participate in the end-to-end design and architecture of the buildingOS platform
• Contribute to the UI design where appropriate
• Help define team workflows, engineering KPIs, and uphold a culture of ownership and learning

Software Development

• Backend and frontend implementation
• Liaise with subcontractors and junior developers during implementation
• Work proactively and independently to develop new modules, and articulate issues or challenges

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the founder and lead engineering manager to shape product direction and user experience
• Interface with external vendors or integration partners when required

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices
• Propose and lead internal R&D initiatives to explore new features or optimizations, to the extent desired

Our Tech Stack

Java, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MongoDB + Postgres + Redis, Docker, Azure

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline
• Software engineering experience, with a preference for previous full-stack development experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying systems in production
• Entrepreneurial mindset and excitement about working in an early-stage startup environment

Compensation

Base Salary:
$200,000 -
$250,000 CAD per year

Performance Bonus: Bonus tranches are awarded every 2 years. The initial bonus tranche is $500,000 - $750,000, paid out through a revenue share agreement.
