Noara Labs is partnering with a fast-scaling NYC-based startup building the next generation of agentic data infrastructure.
The mission: drive the unit cost of a data-driven decision to zero.
You’ll help build an
agentic data lakehouse
— systems that allow AI agents to safely query, reason over, and operate on messy enterprise data without requiring schema migrations, heavy ETL processes, or long implementation cycles.
This is a deeply technical platform role focused on distributed systems, data infrastructure, and AI-native orchestration.
What You’ll Work On
Agentic Semantic Layer
- Build systems that give AI agents reliable enterprise data context.
- Implement guardrails to validate and prove correctness of AI-generated queries.
- Create trust layers for production-grade analytics.
Distributed Agent Systems
- Architect orchestration systems for AI agents interacting with APIs and external services.
- Design systems for model routing, OAuth passthrough, rate limiting, scheduling, and token optimization.
- Build distributed coordination systems at scale.
Agentic Data Engineering
- Design AI-centric ETL pipelines for lakehouse environments.
- Enable large-scale analytics for organizations without heavy data engineering teams.
- Build scalable systems that power self-serve, AI-driven analytics.
Tech Stack
- Golang (dealbreaker)
- gRPC / ConnectRPC
- Trino
- Kubernetes
- DuckDB
- PostgreSQL
- Distributed data platform architecture
Core Requirements (Dealbreakers)
- 4+ years of experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in Golang.
- Experience building production-grade systems in distributed environments.
Required Experience
- Experience at early-stage startups or building products from 0→1.
- Knowledge of data engineering, data modeling, and big data technologies.
- Experience using Trino, Kubernetes, DuckDB, PostgreSQL, or similar distributed data platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
- Comfortable working across the stack (infrastructure, services, occasionally frontend).
Nice to Have
- Experience building distributed data platforms.
- Exposure to semantic layers, analytics tooling, or dbt-style ecosystems.
- Experience with AI-driven data workflows.
- Ability to contribute beyond backend (infrastructure or adjacent systems).
Compensation & Logistics
- Competitive base salary
- $100K equity
- $50K–150K performance bonus
- 5 days/week in-office (FiDi, NYC)
- Visa sponsorship available
- 401(k) match up to 5%
- Premium health, dental, and vision insurance
- 21 days PTO
- Free lunch
- Fast interview process (decision within ~72 hours of on-site)
Why This Role?
- Build foundational infrastructure for AI-native data systems
- High ownership in a fast-scaling engineering team
- Work at the intersection of distributed systems, data platforms, and AI
- Strong compensation + equity package
- Direct impact on enterprise decision-making workflows
