Role summary
The Office of the Languages Commissioner of Nunavut is seeking an Executive Assistant for a term position ending September 30, 2022, in Iqaluit. This role is restricted to Nunavut Inuit. The Executive Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Languages Commissioner, including managing schedules, correspondence, filing, office operations, travel arrangements, and maintaining records. The position requires strong communication and confidentiality skills. Priority hiring is given to Nunavut Inuit in Iqaluit.

The Languages Commissioner is an independent Officer of the Legislative Assembly. The Office of the Languages Commissioner of Nunavut safeguards and promotes the language rights of Official Language communities of Inuit, English and French. These rights are enshrined in
*Nunavut’s Official Languages Act*
and
*Inuit Language Protection Act.*

Please note that all Iqaluit-based positions are eligible for a Nunavut Northern Allowance of $15,016 per annum.
