Role summary

Northpointe Bank is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst to lead advanced threat detection, incident response, and security tool optimization within a regulated banking environment. This role involves correlating SIEM, EDR, and identity data, executing structured incident response, managing vulnerability remediation, and ensuring the operational health of security controls. The analyst will also conduct threat hunting, perform technical assessments, support compliance and audit readiness, and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in information security, expertise in core security domains, and strong communication skills.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled security professional who thrives on advanced threat detection, complex incident response, and continuous improvement of security tools and controls within a regulated banking environment. You’ll act as a technical escalation point, mentor to junior analysts, and key contributor to strategic security initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead advanced threat detection, investigation, and incident response across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Correlate SIEM, EDR, identity, and telemetry data to produce high-confidence findings and actionable outcomes
  • Execute structured incident response including containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned
  • Lead vulnerability management efforts, prioritizing remediation based on risk and exploitability
  • Own operational health and effectiveness of security tools and controls (SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP, email/web filtering, etc.)
  • Perform threat hunting and continuously improve detection coverage and control effectiveness
  • Conduct technical assessments and applied security research to support secure architecture and tool selection
  • Partner with IT, Compliance, and Risk teams to align controls with regulatory expectations
  • Support audit readiness through documentation, control validation, and governance adherence
  • Communicate complex security findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor junior analysts and serve as a technical escalation resource

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years of experience in information security or IT security operations
  • Demonstrated expertise in threat detection, incident response, and security tool optimization
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, endpoint security, identity telemetry, and vulnerability management
  • Experience operating in a regulated or banking environment preferred
  • Senior-level certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, CySA+ or similar preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional decisions
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with high accountability and discretion
  • Flexibility to support after-hours incident response or compliance needs as required
