Staff Software Engineer

Nova is partnered with an AI-native fintech startup backed by top-tier investors. They’ve raised $30M+ and are rebuilding core banking infrastructure, using AI to automate underwriting and lending workflows.

They’re hiring a
Staff Software Engineer
to act as a technical leader as they scale both product and engineering.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead architectural decisions across core product areas
• Spend ~70% hands-on coding, 30% on mentorship and technical leadership
• Drive complex, 0→1 and 1→N initiatives balancing speed and long-term scalability
• Elevate engineering standards and mentor high-performing teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally and occasionally work directly with customers to shape product

Key Experience:

• Engineering experience at a Series A or Series B startup
• 5+ years in product-focused software engineering roles
• Track record of technical leadership and mentoring engineers
• Comfortable operating across stack (TypeScript, React, Python, AWS, etc.)
