Role summary

Nteligen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on software development, system testing, and integration using DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in engineering or a scientific discipline and 8+ years of professional experience. Responsibilities include developing software deployed on security-enhanced operating systems, working within an Agile framework, and contributing to the full development lifecycle. Experience with Linux, Git, and programming languages like Scala, C++, Rust, or GO is essential. The role also involves technical leadership and mentorship, customer interaction, and familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing tools.

The responsibilities of the Senior Engineer include software development with a strong focus on system testing and integration via DevOps practices. The qualifications for Senior Engineer include knowledge of engineering principles, including research and engineering assignments, software documentation, and writing skills, experience in the generation of software components while following an agile software development methodology, experience in the generation of artifacts that support the full development lifecycle, and a degree in engineering or a scientific discipline. The Senior Engineer will have experience developing software deployed on a security-enhanced operating system platform.

Requirements:

BS degree in engineering or a scientific discipline and 8+ years of professional experience.

Qualifications:

  • Expert working in a Linux and Git-based development environment
  • Experience with full life cycle development (SDLC) in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge of programming in Scala, C++, Rust, or GO
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Programming and debugging skills
  • Experience developing software that is deployed on security-enhanced operating platforms.
  • Experience working with Systems Engineers to break down an architecture into a developmental roadmap
  • Experience working in a virtualized networking environment (ESXI, VMware, Networking)
  • Networking protocols and concepts
  • Experience working directly with customers to promote ideas in direct support of the mission
  • Experience as a technical leader and mentor to a team
  • Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing (example: Jenkins)
  • Experience with peer-review of software and documentation products
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred (but not required):

  • SELinux Policy Development
  • Cloud Development (AWS or AZURE)
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions
  • Experience developing Protocols
  • Familiar with IAAC, including Ansible or similar tools
  • Experience with producing software design documentation
