Role summary
A Cybersecurity Engineer is sought to join a DevSecOps team, focusing on integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle to achieve and maintain rapid authorizations via the Navy's RAISE process. The role involves operating and sustaining CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated security tooling, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and managing authorization artifacts. This position is crucial for enabling the secure and continuous delivery of mission-critical applications to the fleet, requiring experience with RAISE, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and RMF, along with an active Secret clearance and Security+ certification.
Position Description:
As a key member of a cross-functional DevSecOps team, the Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for embedding security into the entire software lifecycle to achieve and maintain rapid authorizations via the Navy’s Rapid Assess and Incorporate Software Engineering (RAISE) process. This role is integral to the team’s ability to operate and sustain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for mission-critical applications. The engineer will implement automated security tooling, troubleshoot security-related pipeline issues, and manage authorization artifacts within the DevSecOps toolchain, directly enabling the secure and continuous delivery of capabilities to the fleet.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to operate and sustain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security and automated compliance are embedded throughout the entire software lifecycle.
- Implement DevSecOps best practices by integrating automated security testing, pipeline hardening, and continuous monitoring into the development framework.
- Support the secure transition of externally developed software into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring compliance with RAISE criteria from initial build through production deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security-related build failures, pipeline disruptions, and deployment issues to maintain the integrity and velocity of the delivery process.
- Manage and interpret results from automated security tools to develop and maintain authorization artifacts directly within the DevSecOps toolchain.
Required Experience:
- Experience executing the Navy’s RAISE process for software authorization.
- Experience working within DevSecOps environments and utilizing CI/CD pipelines for software delivery.
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as a foundation for understanding the accelerated RAISE methodology.
Preferred Experience:
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their security implications.
