Role summary

Omega World Travel, a large global travel management company, is seeking a Data Analyst to join their team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, this role is crucial in transforming the company into a data-driven organization. The Data Analyst will leverage advanced statistical, programming, and analytical skills to extract business insights from data, partner with other analysts to develop data-driven solutions, and define KPIs and reporting solutions with a focus on Data Governance. Responsibilities include creating dashboards, performing analyses, and investigating the use of ML/AI. The role requires proficiency in SQL, dashboarding tools like Microstrategy or Tableau, and an understanding of data governance and quality. The position is based onsite in Fairfax, Virginia.

General Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Data Analyst will play a key role in company efforts of transforming to a data-driven organization. You will leverage advanced statistical, programing and analytical skills to mine data for delivering business insights and partner with other analysts to help turn insights into actionable data-driven solutions. The Data Analyst will partner to gather requirements, define KPIs and implement reporting solutions with a focus on Data Governance and measurable impact.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate as a strategic business partner on key initiatives to ensure the realization of goals and objectives.
Create and deliver comprehensive dashboards, KPI’s. analyses, datasets, and reports to empower leaders with actionable insights, thus uncovering avenues for enhancement.
Interface with the colleagues for source-to-target mappings and reporting interfaces.
Apply data science methodologies, such as predictive modeling and machine learning, to uncover hidden patterns in the data, facilitating more accurate forecasting and targeted campaigns when applicable.
Use Microstrategy, SQLTableau, Python, and/or R to pull data, perform analysis and automate monitoring of reports/metrics
Investigate the use of ML/AI to the business and present use cases to the leadership on possibilities.
Requirements:
SQL or other relational database query languages, Microstrategy or other dashboarding skillsets, understanding of data governance and data quality.
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-starter and ability to work autonomously.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time.
Very strong analytical skills to identify trends & patterns in datasets and interpret, synthesize, and communicate insights.
Working knowledge of Excel
Educational experience of analytics and query of data
Basic functional understanding of statistical modeling techniques and ML/AI algorithms
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, MIS, Data Science, Economics, or a related field with a focus on Data Analytics.
Work on-site at the offices in Fairfax, Virginia.
