Compensation: $200k-$325k - Depending on experience

My client is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their Agent Deployment team. This is an opportunity to work as a customer-facing software engineer within a fast-growing AI infrastructure company, partnering directly with customers to turn complex operational workflows into reliable, production-grade AI systems that deliver measurable business value.
This is not a typical implementation role. My client is seeking an engineer who will ship real product and contribute directly to the core platform while working closely with customers on strategic deployments. As an early member of a new team, the successful candidate will help define how the function operates, influence product direction, and play a key role in company growth.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build production-grade systems for strategic pilots, translating complex customer requirements into scalable and durable implementations
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations that expand the capabilities of the AI agent platform
- Build secure, high-performance integrations with external systems, with a focus on reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability
- Turn customer pain points and edge cases into reusable product capabilities that improve the platform for future deployments
- Own the technical lifecycle of key deployments from initial architecture through launch, scaling, and ongoing optimization
- Partner directly with customers, sales, and internal engineering teams to solve high-impact problems and move quickly from concept to production
- Help shape a new function from the ground up with clear visibility, ownership, and influence across the business
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in a product-focused or customer-facing role
- Strong experience building backend systems, APIs, and integrations
- Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders in technical environments
- Ability to translate complex business and operational problems into scalable technical solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
- Interest in AI infrastructure, agent systems, or production-grade deployment environments
