My client is a fast-growing defense technology company building software that empowers military logisticians. They're expanding their engineering team and looking for Forward Deployed Software Engineers who thrive on ownership, autonomy, and high-stakes execution.

The Role

You'll work directly alongside end users and military stakeholders to understand their hardest problems — then build and ship solutions that actually solve them. This isn't a back-office engineering role. You'll own features end-to-end, from concept through deployment, and spend roughly 25% of your time in the field gathering real-world feedback.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partnering with end users and stakeholders to design and deliver purpose-built software solutions
• Taking full ownership of features from prototyping through production deployment
• Integrating systems and ensuring performance in demanding operational environments
• Collaborating across engineering, product, design, and ops to drive complex projects to completion
• Monitoring system reliability, diagnosing issues, and iterating fast
• Balancing short-term urgency with long-term maintainability and mission focus

What They're Looking For

• 2–6 years of full-stack software engineering experience in a customer-facing or forward deployed role
• Comfortable working in small teams with minimal supervision
• Strong execution mindset — reliable, accountable, and mission-driven
• Willingness to travel ~25% to deploy and support software in the field
