Role summary

This contract role in Westlake, Texas, is for a Senior Kubernetes Security Engineer with a strong focus on Java development. The position requires 7-10+ years of experience in software development, with proficiency in Java 11+ (17+ preferred), Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security. The engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining Java applications, developing RESTful APIs and microservices, optimizing performance, and working with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, relational and NoSQL databases, and messaging systems like Kafka or JMS is expected. A strong understanding of OWASP secure coding practices is essential. The role involves collaboration with engineering, QA, and product teams, writing tests, participating in code reviews, and providing production support. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
