AI Engineering Coach

We are looking for a Part-Time AI Engineering Coach to help students transition into AI Engineering roles by mastering practical, production-ready AI and machine learning skills. You’ll coach students to think, design, and communicate like real AI engineers not just write scripts or models.

This remote role requires candidates to reside in the Eastern Time (ET) zone.

Responsibilities

Coach students on core AI engineering and applied ML skills, including:

• Python for AI and ML development (NumPy, pandas, PyTorch / TensorFlow basics)
• Working with APIs, data pipelines, and model integration
• LLM application development (prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, evaluation)
• Data preparation, feature engineering, and dataset validation
• Building end-to-end AI workflows from data ingestion to model deployment
• Model evaluation, experimentation, and debugging

Additional responsibilities:

• Review student AI/ML projects and help optimize them for technical portfolios, resumes, and interviews
• Train students to explain AI systems, models, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support mock technical interviews, project walkthroughs, and take-home AI/ML assignments
• Help students understand how AI engineering candidates are evaluated in hiring processes

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an:
• AI Engineer
• Machine Learning Engineer
• Applied AI Engineer
• Data Scientist (with strong ML engineering focus)
• AI/ML Platform Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with Python for ML / AI development
• Experience building or deploying machine learning or AI-powered applications
• Familiarity with LLM workflows, APIs, or modern AI tooling
• Experience working with real-world datasets and production-oriented workflows
• Comfortable breaking down complex AI systems and engineering logic step-by-step

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, etc.)
• Experience with model deployment or MLOps tools (Docker, FastAPI, cloud ML services)
• Experience building RAG systems or AI-powered applications
• Experience in tech startups, AI companies, or ML-focused teams
• Mentoring or onboarding junior engineers
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin

Time Commitment

• Part-time / contract basis
• ~4–10 hours per week (flexible)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
