Role summary

Oracle Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC3) to join their Patient Accounting team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and operating secure, scalable, and highly available backend services and platform components for SaaS products. The engineer will work across the full SDLC, including architecture, development, testing, monitoring, and production support. A key expectation is the practical application of AI-assisted techniques to enhance developer productivity and quality, while adhering to security and privacy standards. The role requires 5+ years of software development experience, proficiency in languages like Java, C#, SQL, or Python, and experience with public cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.

Oracle Health Patient Accounting comprises of a portfolio of SaaS products and services designed to fully automate insurance and patient billing while providing a first-class experience for end users. We operate with an AI-first engineering culture - engineers are expected to use AI-assisted approaches to accelerate delivery and improve quality across system design, coding, testing, documentation, and operations.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC3) to design, develop, and operate backend services and platform components to provide secure, scalable, and highly available services for our end customers. You will have the opportunity to work across the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement backend services and APIs.
• Deliver features end-to-end: requirements clarification, technical design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Participate in code and design reviews; contribute to engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, observability, security).
• Diagnose and resolve production issues; participate in on-call and incident response and drive follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (including SRE/Operations, Security, Product, and other engineering teams).
• Produce and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.

AI-First Engineering Expectations
• Demonstrate practical experience using AI-assisted techniques/tools to improve developer productivity and quality (e.g., faster prototyping, stronger test coverage, safer refactoring, better documentation).
• Apply an AI-first mindset to day-to-day work: generating and validating code suggestions, creating/maintaining tests, and improving observability and runbooks—while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
• Understand and follow enterprise security and privacy requirements when using AI tooling (e.g., protect sensitive data, use approved tools/workflows).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal Security Clearance, which requires you to be a US Citizen.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more: Java, C#, SQL, Python, and Oracle Database
  • Experience with modern engineering practices: source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience developing SaaS/PaaS services using public cloud (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with healthcare / financial systems.
