Senior Data Analyst
Role summary
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the data quality and controls for Global Capital Markets trades and transactions. This role involves facilitating data sourcing needs for internal clients, acting as a subject matter expert, and providing guidance on data mapping and transformation. The analyst will perform root cause analysis for data quality issues, contribute to data governance, and manage reference data. They will stay updated on changes in data pipelines and business processes, ensuring definitions and metadata are current. The position also requires understanding risk appetite, promoting a customer-focused culture, and continuously improving processes for efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Detailed Job Description:
Responsible for the data quality and controls execution for Global Capital Markets trades and transactions data.
Facilitate GBM trades and transactions data sourcing needs for internal clients such as GBM, Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, and other corporate functions. Document definitions and contextual understanding, and act as a subject matter expert to clients.Provide advice and guidance on data mapping and transformation to meet business requirements.
Support data initiatives as assigned.
Understands and supports leading practices related to data management. Has experience with capital markets products and business processes.
Perform root cause analysis and remediation for data quality issues and incidents.
Contributes to the governance of trade and transactions domain. Assist in the development of the trade and transactions data domain, and business adoption of data governance activities.
Contributes to the management of reference data related to the assigned products.
Keep abreast with changes in data pipeline, business process, and technology process related to the assigned products. Contribute to keeping the definitions and metadata up to date.
Contributes to the overall data management practice and capabilities relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management, and change management.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Promotes trade data governance and management through the lens of the customer.
Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Contribute to ensure data accuracy, integrity, efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to trade data management, maintaining documentations, and implementing necessary controls.
Experienced in data management, data analysis, or data engineering.
Deep knowledge of capital markets product.
Strong communication skills. Ability to storytell using data. Strong SQL skills.
Phyton skill is preferred.
Experiences working in Agile delivery methodology.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
