We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in
Mainframe DevOps and SCM Migration
to lead large-scale application modernization initiatives on
IBM Z
. The primary focus of this role is the conversion of legacy Source Code Management (SCM) systems—specifically
CA Endevor
—to modern
DBB/Git/IDD
ecosystems. You will be responsible for building robust CI/CD pipelines on the mainframe and providing hands-on technical guidance to enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- SCM Transformation:
Lead and execute complex migration projects transitioning from CA Endevor to
DBB/Git/IDD
.
- Environment Optimization:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot DBB/Git/IDD environments specifically on
z/OS
.
- Pipeline Engineering:
Design and debug mainframe CI/CD pipelines utilizing
Groovy, YAML, Git, and DBB
.
- Application Validation:
Analyze and validate Endevor-managed applications during the conversion process.
- Technical Consulting:
Deliver client training sessions and create comprehensive technical documentation for modernized workflows.
- Cross-Platform Integration:
Work hands-on with
z/OS, JCL, COBOL, PL/I, and VSAM/QSAM
to ensure seamless migrations.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Mainframe Mastery:
Strong background in
z/OS development
or systems programming.
- Modern DevOps Scripting:
Proven, hands-on experience with
Groovy
and
YAML
for automation.
- Git Expertise:
Advanced knowledge of Git repositories, branching strategies, and pipeline debugging.
- Legacy-to-Modern Migration:
Direct experience diagnosing and resolving
DBB/Git/IDD
conversion issues.
- Consultative Communication:
Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to lead technical workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience:
8+ years of mainframe systems programming or development experience.
- Consulting:
4+ years in customer-facing consulting or SCM modernization roles.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
