
Principal Product Manager, Core Platform & AI (Cortex Platform)
Role summary
Palo Alto Networks is seeking a visionary Principal Product Manager for their newly formed Core Platform & AI team, focusing on the Cortex Platform. This role involves shaping the long-term vision and building core AI-powered components for the entire Cortex product suite (XSIAM, XDR, XSOAR, Cortex Cloud). The ideal candidate will drive the product lifecycle from ideation to delivery, define strategy through requirements gathering and prioritization, and foster collaboration with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams. This position requires 7+ years of product management experience in enterprise cybersecurity, with a strong background in building global SaaS products and leveraging AI/agentic workflows. The role emphasizes a creative, startup mindset within a global enterprise context.

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Principal Product Manager to join a newly formed, rapidly growing team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI in cybersecurity. In this dynamic environment, the blueprint is not yet fully written. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the long-term vision and build the core components that power the entire Cortex product portfolio - including XSIAM, XDR, XSOAR, and Cortex Cloud. Your Impact
- Driving the Product Lifecycle: Owning the development of enterprise-grade, cloud-scale core components from zero-to-one ideation through to successful delivery across the Cortex suite.
- Defining the Strategy: Spearheading requirements gathering and prioritizing high-impact features within an open, evolving product landscape.
- Fostering Collaboration: Partnering closely with cross-functional engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to align on and execute a cohesive product vision.
- Challenging the Status Quo: Leveraging AI and agentic workflows to build innovative solutions that seamlessly scale across our massive global customer base.
Qualifications
Your Experience
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of product management experience in a cross-functional, enterprise environment.
- BSc/MS in Computer Science, another engineering/technical degree, or equivalent military experience.
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity and building enterprise-scale, high-performing, globally available SaaS products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with effective skills in managing multiple tasks, projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- A strong team player with a 'can-do' approach, excellent people skills, and a positive mentality.
- Proven ability to manage product planning with multiple stakeholders within large, matrixed organizations.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
$171,200.00 - $276,825.00/yr
