This senior HR leader will collaborate with global HR teams and Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards) to drive a unified HR strategy while adapting to regional needs. Responsibilities include overseeing Employee Relations and HR Operations, providing strategic HR Business Partner support to Customer Success and Corporate Functions, and leading a multidisciplinary HR team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive HR experience, demonstrated leadership in HR Business Partnering and HR Operations, and advanced knowledge of Workday and ServiceNow.

About the role

The position is at a tech company. The Senior Director of HR (Americas) is a senior HR leader responsible for delivering strategic Human Resources partnership across global business functions while ensuring operational excellence throughout the Americas region.

As one of three regional HR leaders, this role helps drive a unified global HR strategy while adapting programs to meet regional business needs. The position leads organizational effectiveness for the Customer Success and Corporate Functions teams while overseeing Employee Relations and HR Operations across the Americas.

Responsibilities

Global HR Collaboration & Peer Partnership

  • Regional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Regional HR leaders across EMEA and APJ to align global HR strategies, share best practices, and maintain a consistent approach while allowing for regional flexibility.
  • Center of Excellence (COE) Partnership: Serve as the primary connection between business leaders and Human Resources Centers of Excellence:
  • Talent Acquisition (TA): Partner on strategic workforce planning, executive recruitment, and leadership hiring initiatives.
  • Talent Management (TM): Collaborate on global performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and talent review processes.
  • Total Rewards: Work closely with the Compensation and Benefits team to support competitive regional programs and scalable compensation strategies.
  • HR Business Partner Collaboration: Partner with HR Business Partners across global regions to deliver a consistent employee experience for internationally distributed teams.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize workforce data and HR analytics to evaluate organizational effectiveness, measure outcomes, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.

Regional Leadership & Management (Americas)

  • Regional Leadership: Serve as the primary Human Resources leader for the Americas, ensuring compliance with employment regulations while fostering a positive organizational culture across the United States and Brazil.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary HR team, including the HR Manager for Brazil, Employee Relations, and HR Operations and Compliance professionals.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement of HR services by leveraging Workday, ServiceNow, and other technologies to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.

Strategic HR Business Partnership (Functional)

  • Customer Success: Provide strategic HR Business Partner support to Customer Success leadership by advising on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, leadership effectiveness, and change management.
  • Corporate Functions: Oversee HR Business Partner support for Information Technology, Information Security, Legal, Human Resources, and Finance, ensuring these business functions receive strategic People partnership.
  • Performance Culture: Partner with the Employee Relations team to strengthen manager capability in performance management, coaching, employee development, and complex workplace issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with demonstrated leadership across HR Business Partnering and HR Operations functions.
  • Regional Expertise: Proven experience leading Human Resources initiatives across the Americas region.
  • Matrix Leadership: Strong ability to collaborate effectively across multiple regions, time zones, cross-functional teams, and Human Resources Centers of Excellence.
  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to balance strategic organizational planning with hands-on operational execution and problem-solving.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills with experience partnering effectively with executive leadership and global stakeholders.
  • Systems Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Workday, ServiceNow, and enterprise Human Resources technology platforms.
