Role summary

The Product Manager for Prepared Foods will be responsible for various aspects of production planning and execution within a manufacturing environment. Key duties include utilizing SAP for production planning, managing production orders and batch tickets, updating reports, and assisting with inventory adjustments. The role requires strong computer proficiency, particularly with MS Excel and Word for reporting and analysis. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring production efficiencies, meeting demand on time, and supporting the Plant Management team. The role may involve direct reports and supervisory duties.

Description

Essential Functions

  • Create/develop metrics to help identify constraints/delays
  • Assist planning projects, scheduling, and processing of production orders/batch tickets as well as communicating all necessary changes to the production department.
  • Utilize SAP for production planning which includes creating production orders/batch tickets.
  • Understand and utilize Production Scheduling Board
  • Update the backorder report with production status notes each morning
  • Update the production schedule with production status notes each morning
  • Assist with the allocation of production orders in advance of planned production date. Timely allocation is to ensure efficiencies and maximum capacity usage of equipment and personnel based on existing orders and materials.
  • Assist in processing all necessary inventory adjustments including material shortages, material overages, lot number discrepancies
  • Communicate any delays that will affect an order’s completion
  • Assist in creating/closing production orders and correcting production order variances on a daily and end of month basis.
  • Prepare status and performance reports for department goals using Excel, Word, etc.
  • Assist Plant Management team to ensure production workload requirements are met.
  • Monitor production jobs and inventory to meet demand on time
  • Plan and prioritize operations
  • Assist in determining raw materials, equipment and manpower needed to cover production needs.
  • Role may have direct reports and may have Production Supervisor and/or HACCP supervisor duties assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Two years’ experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
  • Proficiency with computers and experience with MS Excel

Core Competencies:

  • Resume Required
  • Applicant must have strong computer skills, including MS Word, and Excel, with the ability to create formulas, graphs, pivot tables, and workbooks.
  • Excellent math, statistical, analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Current knowledge and experience with MRP or MES is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities
