Role summary

Plan IT Packaging Systems Inc. is seeking a PLC Programmer / Automation Programmer to design, develop, and support control systems for packaging machinery. This role requires hands-on experience with Robot and PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting automated equipment. The successful candidate will program and troubleshoot PLC and Robot systems, design HMI/SCADA systems, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams. Responsibilities include conducting FAT/SAT, supporting installation and commissioning, resolving technical issues, optimizing machine performance, and maintaining documentation. Travel for site support and commissioning is expected.

Job Summary

Plan IT Packaging Systems Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated PLC Programmer / Automation Programmer to design, develop, and support control systems for packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Robot and PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems (e.g., Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Develop, program, and troubleshoot Robot systems (e.g., Omron, ABB). With Six-axis arm, Scara, and Delta robots experience.
Design and configure HMI/SCADA systems for packaging machines.
Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams to integrate automation solutions.
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Support installation, commissioning, and start-up at customer sites.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation and controls.
Optimize machine performance, efficiency, and changeover processes.
Maintain documentation for programs, manuals, and system configurations.
Provide remote and on-site technical support when required.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
Experience in Robot programming.
3+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
Strong knowledge of PLC platforms (Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Experience with HMI development (NB Designer, Tia Portal, FactoryTalk, WinCC, or similar).
Understanding of packaging machinery or manufacturing systems (preferred).
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel for site support and commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with servo systems, VFDs, and motion control.
Experience with PLC, HMI programming.
Knowledge of safety circuits and industrial standards.
Experience in food or packaging industry.
