This hybrid role involves designing and developing end-to-end platform features using C/C++, React/React Native/JS, and Java/JS/GraphQL for scalable applications on the PS5. Responsibilities include owning SDK features, supporting front-end and backend development, collaborating with product and UX teams, resolving defects, and optimizing code. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, strong CS fundamentals, and at least 3 years of experience in SDK, front-end, and backend integration. Senior Software Engineer - Client SDK

San Mateo - Hybrid

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Client SDK to join our agile high-performance Dev Team and contribute to the Best Place to Play. You will apply your software development skills and to delight our users with innovative features. You will work and collaborate daily with a diverse team dedicated to excellence, inclusion, and fun. This is a rare opportunity to be part of one of the world's most recognized brands, and to collaborate with PlayStation engineering teams across the globe. This is a hybrid role in San Mato.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to design and develop end-to-end Platform Features using C/C++ in the Game SDK, React/React-Native/JS in the front-end, and Java/JS/Graph QL in the backend, delivering highly scalable applications running on the PS5 console.
  • Own and deliver Multi-platform SDK features and Sample Programs using C/C++ and be accountable for the results.
  • Ability to support front-end UI components/backend server development as needed.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and UX designers on requirements.
  • Investigate and Resolve reported Defects and work with the QE team members to close on the issues.
  • Work on continuous improvement of software, by profiling, refactoring and optimizing the code.
  • Work with limited supervision under tight time constraints and respond to rapidly evolving requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. .
  • Solid base in Computer Science, understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with designing and developing SDKs, Front-End Apps, and integrating with backend services.
  • Strong programming skills using C/C++, experience with Front-End development using JS/React/React Native.
  • Passionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well.
  • A collaborative teammate, a fast learner, with a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with popular JavaScript UI frameworks, React and React Native, Node.js, and Restful APIs.
  • Experience with Service-side development using Java or other server programming languages like Python
  • Built and developed GraphQL-based applications
  • Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.
  • Experience working with a large multi-cultural team that values collaboration and inclusive professional conduct.
